On October 16, 2009, a sold out crowd of nearly 400 people celebrated Fair Chance and their work at the 2009 Butterfly Bash held at the newly renovated W Hotel.

Andre Johnson joined a group of boys to write "Against All Odds", a poem based on the practice of gang members in their neighborhood marking territory by hanging shoes over power lines.
College & Career Connections (CCC) Awarded $1,500 Scholarships to Fourteen Seniors
Along with family, friends, and supporters, fourteen recent high school graduates were honored at CCC's first scholarship awards event on June 15, 2009 and were each awarded $1,500 scholarships.

Brainfood at the White House
Invited by the First Lady's office, nearly twenty Brainfood teens demonstrated their kitchen skills at the White House. The Brainfood teens assisted the White House Executive Chef and her staff by preparing a July 4th barbeque for more than 1,200 active military and their families.

The FCBA Foundation Charity Auction to Benefit Kid Power-DC
Washington, D.C. - The Young Lawyers Committee of the Federal Communications Bar Association ("FCBA") and the FCBA Foundation will hold the 18th Annual Charity Auction on Thursday, November 15, 2007, at the Marriott at Metro Center, 775 12th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C., from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
