College & Career Connections (CCC) Awarded $1,500 Scholarships to Fourteen Seniors
Along with family, friends, and supporters, fourteen recent high school graduates were honored at CCC's first scholarship awards event on June 15, 2009 and were each awarded $1,500 scholarships. From a pool of fifty applicants, fourteen scholars from Friendship Collegiate Academy, Howard D. Woodson High School, and McKinley Technology High School were selected for awards. Recipients will be attending colleges in 9 different states and studying a diverse range of disciplines, from electrical engineering and business to fashion design and communications.
College & Career Connections raises funds for college scholarships and distributes one time awards to graduating seniors who live or attend high school in Ward 7 of Washington, DC.
